Jacquard Works

The Jacquard technique is a fine workmanship. It consists of weaving a design or decoration directly onto the texture of the knit or crochet work. A slight relief effect is achieved, enhancing the quality of the workmanship. It is usually used in needlework, but crocheting offers a good and valuable alternative. Hats, bags, pockets and various applications can be made with this technique. Very distinctive is the effect of raffia worked in contrast to other materials.
